Our Team

At Four Rivers Vector Control District, we are proud to have a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about public health and mosquito control. Our team includes:

  • Board of Trustees: Our Board of Trustees consists of five members appointed by the Deschutes County Board of Commissioners. They provide oversight and guidance to ensure that our district operates efficiently and effectively.

  • Staff: We have two full-time employees who are responsible for day-to-day operations, including mosquito surveillance, larviciding, adulticiding, and public education. In addition, we hire 3-5 seasonal employees during peak mosquito season to assist with field operations.

  • Community Partners: We work closely with local government, public health agencies, and other stakeholders to coordinate mosquito control efforts and promote public health.

  • Involvement: We are actively involved with several organizations, including the Special Districts Association of Oregon (SDAO), Oregon Mosquito and Vector Control Association (OMVCA), Northwest Mosquito and Vector Control Association (NWMVCA), and the American Mosquito Control Association (AMCA). These organizations provide us with valuable resources and support to help us achieve our mission.

Our Services

At Four Rivers Vector Control District, we offer a range of mosquito control services to our community, including:

  • Mosquito Surveillance: We monitor mosquito populations using traps and other surveillance methods to identify areas with high mosquito activity.

  • Larviciding: We treat mosquito breeding sites with larvicides to kill mosquito larvae before they develop into adults.

  • Adulticiding: We use insecticides to control adult mosquitoes when surveillance data indicates the need for adulticiding.

  • Public Education: We provide information and resources to our community to help them reduce mosquito breeding sites and protect themselves from mosquito bites.
