Board Commitment
The Four Rivers Vector Control District (FRVCD) is governed by a five-member Board of Trustees. Board members are electors of the District, meaning they are residents or property owners within District boundaries, and are appointed by the Deschutes County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) to serve four-year terms.
Trustees volunteer their time to support the District’s mission of protecting public health through effective mosquito and vector control. No Board member receives compensation for service on the Board or as an employee of the District.
A strong, engaged, and well-informed Board is essential to ensuring the District remains transparent, fiscally responsible, and responsive to the needs of the communities it serves. When a seat becomes vacant, it presents a valuable opportunity to welcome new perspectives and expertise that further strengthen the Board’s ability to guide the District forward.
Board Meeting Schedule
The Board of Trustees meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. Meetings are held at the Four Rivers Vector Control District Office, located at 56478 Solar Drive, Bend, Oregon 97707.
Regular meetings take place from January through October. The Board does not meet in November or December unless special circumstances require a meeting. All meetings are also conducted live via Zoom, and members of the public are welcome to attend remotely.
